During my long-term substitute position in a 5th-grade classroom, one of the additional writing projects that my grade-level PLC team does is the "World Changers Project."
Within this project, students are able to write a 4-paragraph essay on a chosen "World Changer." Students accomplish this by reading a biography about their world changer and taking notes to assist in developing their claim about how their chosen individual impacted the world.
